Understanding young people who harm

Professor David Gadd is Director of the Centre for Criminology and Criminal Justice at Manchester University Law School. David has 15 years of experience conducting and analysing in-depth interview research with offenders, and has written extensively on the subjects of domestic abuse, masculinities and crime, racial harassment, offender motivation and desistance from crime.

This 15 minute video explores some of David’s work with young people causing harm; hear him discuss issues such as the use of terminology, understanding the complexities of young peoples’ relationships, effective interventions and important messages for practitioners.
