Our Scotland Marac representatives training will equip you with the essential skills needed to:

  • Improve understanding of a multi-agency response to domestic abuse, the evaluated Marac model, and the role of the Marac Representative within this
  • Understand the impact of Covid-19 on Scottish Marac operation and the Scottish policy context
  • Provide valuable skills and experience to engage effectively with Marac.

Course overview

The four aims of Marac are to safeguard victims of domestic abuse, manage perpetrators’ behaviour, safeguard professionals and make links with all other safeguarding processes.

Our Scotland Marac representatives training explains how a multi-agency response works and shows you how to make your Marac as effective as possible.

The course is suitable for those who are new to the role of Marac agency representative, as well as those who want to undertake refresher training.

On our Scotland Marac representatives training you’ll learn how to: 

  • Better understand and engage with the Marac process locally
  • Examine the 10 principles for an effective Marac and the benefits of implementing Marac
  • Describe the referral criteria and the referral process for Marac
  • State the legislation which supports the lawful sharing of information
  • Formulate an action plan which focuses on risks and safety

Very informative and touched on the basics which was good due to being new in the field. I particularly liked the risks and actions as it's always good to hear things you maybe would not have thought of.

Date: Tuesday 10th September

Time: 10am – 16:30pm

Time commitment

This workshop will consist of one full-day online training workshop, with an expectation for attendees to complete a small task and/or limited reading ahead of the session. The workshop will be facilitated via MS Teams and you will be expected to keep your camera on for the duration of the training.

Eligibility

Our Scotland Marac representatives training is suitable for those who are new to (or soon to start) the role of Marac agency representative, those who hold the position of Marac chair, deputy, or Marac representative, as well as those who want to undertake refresher training. 

Learners must be based in Scotland to be eligible for this course. 

Please note that a maximum of four applications per Marac will be considered for each cohort to ensure an even spread of attendees from across Scotland.

£75 per learner for the full day course.
