Course overview

SafeLives enhanced multi-agency response to domestic abuse training course is a four-day, trauma-informed, OCN endorsed programme designed to help organisations develop skilled domestic abuse Single Points of Contact (SPOCs). Learners will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide consistent advice, guidance and support within their organisation and respond effectively to domestic abuse.

The course explores the dynamics and different forms of domestic abuse in detail, including coercive control, stalking, ‘honour’-based abuse, non-fatal strangulation (NFS) and technology-facilitated abuse. Through practical case studies and interactive exercises, participants will build confidence in identifying risk, using the Domestic Abuse, Stalking and ‘Honour’- based abuse (DASH) Risk Checklist, sharing information safely, contributing to Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs) and working effectively across multi-agency systems.

This course is ideal for professionals who play a key role in identifying domestic abuse, supporting safe disclosure, assessing risk and making appropriate referrals.

It is recommended that learners have a basic understanding of domestic abuse and are trained or competent in using the DASH Risk Checklist before attending.
