Course overview

Our Domestic abuse workplace policy training in Scotland provides introductory knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse in the workplace, enabling employers to develop and implement workplace policies.

Employers want to do everything possible to keep staff healthy, happy, and productive. Virtually every employer will have staff who are affected by domestic abuse, and yet so few employers have adequate policies or training in place.

Some signals may indicate that colleagues are experiencing domestic abuse, such as anxiety, decreased motivation, employees seeming distracted, being late, or employees being on the phone to a partner or family member very often. 

This training aims to provide employers with an introductory understanding of domestic abuse in the workplace and how policy can help safeguard against the risk or future risk of domestic abuse for employees. 

The course is available to any professionals or volunteers who are looking to strengthen and deepen their understanding of domestic abuse. 

This course will focus on:

  • The definition and prevalence of domestic abuse.
  • The impact of domestic abuse on people in the workplace.
  • The importance of workplace policy on domestic abuse.
  • Safety planning strategies for use in the workplace.
  • How to identify and address perpetrators of the domestic abuse.
  • Information sharing in cases of domestic abuse.

Eligibility

This training is suitable for professionals or volunteers who work with or have a professional responsibility for victims of domestic abuse.

Price

Open course = £60 per learner
In house = £800 (online) or £1200 (F2F) for groups of up to 24 learners.
