Hertfordshire Domestic Abuse Coproduction Panel

Supporting Hertfordshire’s Domestic Abuse Coproduction Panel

As part of Hertfordshire’s commitment to survivors of domestic abuse, their Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls Executive and Partnership Boards have committed to setting up and supporting a panel of survivors of domestic abuse who want to improve how it is for other survivors of domestic abuse.

The panel, established in 2022, is a small and influential group of experts by experience who have been impacted by domestic abuse, and have used Hertfordshire’s domestic abuse services.

They are committed to improve the lives of  victims and survivors of domestic abuse across Hertfordshire in partnership with Herts County Council, using the insight and what they have learned though their experience of domestic abuse to benefit other survivors.

SafeLives has been commissioned by Herts County Council to facilitate and support the panel as it grows.

Authentic Voice Principles and Model

A summary of the Authentic Voice principles and Authentic Voice model. The AV principles are the foundation of all our Authentic Voice work. They were co-created by survivors (SafeLives Pioneers and Authentic Voice Panel) and professionals, some of whom also have lived experience of domestic abuse. The AV model was created to hold space for survivors to choose the level of involvement that best meets their needs at this time when using their lived experience in our work.

Survivor voices

A group of experts by experience came together and named themselves the SafeLives Pioneers, because they want to use their experiences and passion to change the world. Their voices inform everything we do, and together we aim to transform the response to domestic abuse in the UK – for every victim and survivor and their children.
