About the Insights modules

Perpetrators

Responding to the whole family

We believe that in order to provide an effective response to victims and survivors of domestic abuse it’s necessary to understand the whole picture for an individual and family; and that to reduce the number of domestic abuse victims, we need to get to the root of the problem – and that is the perpetrator.

To reflect the importance SafeLives attaches to these key areas the Insights core system offers four different sets of questions:

  • Adult victims of domestic abuse
  • Adult victims of sexual violence
  • Children
  • Those perpetrating abuse

Additional ‘Opt-in’ modules for other specialist areas

Over the next few months we will be adding more modules to the SafeLives core system which you can choose to opt-in to. This level of customisation means your reports will truly reflect the type of organisation that you are and offer rich, valuable insights regarding the clients you provide support to.

The additional modules will include:

  • BME
  • Helpline (live)
  • Housing
  • Mental health
  • Non-physical abuse
  • Substance misuse
  • Mental health
  • Young people in intimate relationships

Alternatively you may wish for help designing an entirely new module.

We are seeking partners to pilot and feed into all of these modules, if you are interested please contact the Insights lead Martha Tomlinson for more details Martha.Tomlinson@safelives.org.uk.

Looking ahead – shaping our response in the future

Insights has been and will continue to be refined and shaped by our ongoing research. This includes findings from new interventions currently being trialled by SafeLives that covers work with those perpetrating abuse and support for women before they reach a point of crisis.
