Key Course Features

Our Scotland: Safety planning, referral pathways and Marac training will aim to:

  • Consider best practice when safety planning with people experiencing domestic abuse
  • Explore multi-agency responses to domestic abuse and appropriate referral pathways
  • Explore safe information-sharing in cases of domestic abuse
  • Provide an overview of the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018 and other legal responses to domestic abuse

Course overview

Our Safety planning and the Marac process training in Scotland is designed to enhance knowledge, skills and confidence for professionals who identify and refer high risk victims to Marac in Scotland.

Central to an effective Marac is the safeguarding of the victim and ensuring that the victim is appropriately supported with their needs represented. Safety planning aims to manage the risk to people at risk of or experiencing domestic abuse, and to increase their safety. This training will give you the skills and knowledge to provide appropriate safety plans for victims.

This training will focus on:

  • The dynamics of domestic abuse and support available
  • Introduction to risk assessment
  • Safety planning, signposting and referral pathways
  • Overview of Marac and multi-agency risk management
  • Information sharing

This is a half day course, delivered online via Teams

Eligibility

Our Safety planning and the Marac process training in Scotland is suitable for professionals who identify and refer high risk victims to Marac. This workshop is aimed at those involved in the Marac process, either by referring victims or by attending meetings.
