Covid-19: Impact on Maracs in Scotland

2020 survey results

Following the introduction of emergency measures responding to Covid-19, Scotland went into a lockdown with the rest of the UK on 23rd March 2020. We wanted to assess the  impact of the pandemic on Maracs (multi-agency risk assessment conference).

We sent out a survey to each Marac in Scotland. The survey was open from 21st April to 28th May 2020 and was supported by funding from the Scottish Government.

    Key findings

Maracs in Scotland told us that during lockdown:

  • 57%

noticed a reduction in attendance of agencies since lockdown

  • 33%

said it was more difficult for Idaas to contact victims

  • 13%

said the Idaa service was unable to provide a representative

  • 63%

    reported changes to action planning
