SafeLives responds to announcement of £750m funding package for charities

"SafeLives welcomes the Chancellor's recognition that charities represent a key part of the response to the impact of COVID-19. We also warmly welcome his repeated mention of domestic abuse as a central issue of concern for the Government, given our own data about the rise in prevalence and severity at the moment. We know that the £750m being made available is very far short of the £4.3bn figure NCVO felt was required for charities during this period, so we look forward to understanding in more detail the funds which will be available specifically to charities responding to abuse. The work has never been more urgent."
