In summer 2019, a group of SafeLives Pioneers and survivors from around the country came together to start a movement; challenging preconceptions about what a 'victim' or a 'survivor' is. We want to connect people with lived experience of domestic abuse making sure no one feels alone. We aim to inspire people to know that you don't need to be defined by your experience. This film is the first step in that movement.

Join us. Together our voices are stronger. Together we will end domestic abuse. For everyone. For good.

Join the movement

Together, we are powerful. If you feel comfortable, we'd love to hear your voice too:

  • Film your own selfie video and post it on Twitter or Instagram
  • Tell us a bit about yourself: what are you passionate about? What really matters to you?
  • Use the hashtag #ImASurvivor and tag us @safelives_

Keep in touch

We're creating a space for all survivors to share their stories, insight and passion with each other: our online newsletter Voices Together. It's written by, with and for people with lived experience of domestic abuse – find out more and sign up.
